Ceremony to commemorate 150th anniversary of Dr Sun Yat-sen's birthday

     The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will hold an official ceremony at the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park on Saturday (November 12) to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birthday of Dr Sun Yat-sen.
 
     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung will join some 2 000 people at the ceremony including senior government officials, judicial officers, members of the Executive Council and the Legislative Council, invited guests, members of the community, uniformed groups and students.
 
     The official ceremony will be held at 10am. The ceremony will include a presentation of flower bouquets by the Chief Executive and student representatives, bowing in tribute to Dr Sun, a grand parade and salute by the disciplined services and uniformed groups, a performance by the Police Band and singing of the national anthem by a choir from St Paul's Co-educational College.
 
     There will be no public viewing area for the ceremony. Radio Television Hong Kong will provide a live broadcast of the ceremony on the day.
