Thirteen building plans approved in September

     The Buildings Department approved 13 building plans in September, with three on Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon and six in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, eight were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, two were for commercial developments, two were for factory and industrial developments and one was for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 15 building projects that, when completed, will provide 191 929 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 3 687 units, and 63 846 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for nine building projects.

     The department also issued 26 occupation permits, with seven on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon and 14 in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 157 348 sq m, involving 1 224 units, and 48 256 sq m was for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in September totalled about $8.6 billion.

     In addition, five demolition consents involving five building structures were issued.

     The department received 4 382 reports about unauthorised building works in September and issued 1 311 removal orders on unauthorised works.
