London ETO promotes Hong Kong films at London East Asia Film Festival 2016 (with photos)
****************************************************************************************
The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London (London ETO) promotes Hong Kong film culture in London by sponsoring the London East Asia Film Festival (LEAFF) 2016.

LEAFF was first launched in 2015 as a film event to champion the growing collaboration and diversity in East Asian film-making. This year, the Festival brought over three Hong Kong films, namely "Beautiful 2016", "Nessun Dorma" and "Three". "Beautiful 2016" is the fifth micro-movie series commissioned by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society, featuring four film directors from the region.

"Three" has been selected as the closing film for LEAFF 2016. Director of the film Johnnie To attended the closing event in London on October 30 (London Time), which included a question-and-answer session with him following the film screening.

Speaking at the closing event, the Director-General of the London ETO, Ms Priscilla To, highlighted Hong Kong's success in film-making. "Hong Kong continues to be a favourite location for overseas film makers, especially those from Hollywood. That is thanks, of course, to the look and feel of Hong Kong and its many East-meets-West location possibilities. It is also thanks to our post-production professionals, from special-effects creators to digital animators," she said.

Running from October 20 to 30, LEAFF 2016 presents a diverse programme of some 40 films from South Korea, Japan, China, Hong Kong, and other places in Southeast Asia.
