No Drug and No Drink Driving Bus Parade successfully held

The following is issued on behalf of the Road Safety Council:

     The Road Safety Council (RSC) and Traffic Kowloon West of the Hong Kong Police Force successfully held the No Drug and No Drink Driving Bus Parade today (October 9). The Parade started from the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza.

     The event was officiated by the Chairman of the Road Safety Campaign Committee of the RSC, Dr Eric Cheng; the Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic Kowloon West, Hong Kong Police Force, Mr Liu Shing-bun; the Regional Commander, Kowloon West, Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol, Mr Gavin Lam; the Chairman of the Sham Shui Po Road Safety Campaign Committee, Mr Cheng Muk-lam; the Chairman of the Yau Tsim Mong Road Safety Campaign Organising Committee, Mr Hau Wing-cheong; the Chairman of the Kowloon City Road Safety Campaign Committee, Mr Ho Chi-kai; the Chairman of the Transport Affairs Committee, Sham Shui Po District Council, Mr Vincent Cheng; the Chairman of the Traffic and Transport Committee, Kowloon City District Council, Mr Luk King-kwong; Vice Chairlady of the Traffic, Transport and Housing Committee, Yau Tsim Mong District Council, Ms Kwan Sau-ling; Promotion Officers, Kowloon West, Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol, Ms Tse Suet-sum and Mr Don Li and the Chairman of the Harley Owners Group Hong Kong Chapter, Mr Michael Huen.

     Motorcycles were exhibited at the Piazza. After a bus lighting ceremony and a music performance by Mr Don Li and the Police Silver Band, the guests took an open-top bus through the Tsim Sha Tsui area to distribute road safety leaflets to deliver the "No Drug and No Drink Driving" message to road users.
