Special traffic arrangements in Central District from next Monday

     The Transport Department (TD) today (September 23) reminded members of the public that due to preparation works for a car racing event, temporary road closures and traffic diversions will be implemented in the areas along the Central harbourfront including Lung Wo Road, Man Yiu Street, Man Kwong Street, Yiu Sing Street, Man Po Street and Man Cheung Street from next Monday (September 26) to October 8 (Saturday).

     Traffic in Central District is expected to be more congested than usual. The TD appeals to motorists to avoid driving to the above areas unless necessary. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience and follow instructions given by the Police.

     Members of the public are advised to plan their journey well in advance, use public transport services as far as possible and allow ample time for travelling. Details of the special traffic arrangements are now available on the department's website (www.td.gov.hk).

     Members of the public are also advised to watch out for special traffic and transport arrangements on the event days and on the road restoration works thereafter. Details will be announced later.
