Statement by Security Bureau

     A spokesman for the Security Bureau today (September 8) said that the Secretary for Security expressed concern and attached great importance to a case in which the personal safety of a member-elect of the Legislative Council and his family was at risk.

     The Police are now meeting with the party concerned and will take suitable measures to ensure their personal safety.

     The Government will not tolerate any illegal acts that pose threats against personal safety. The Police will investigate and handle the case professionally and seriously.
