Andy Wong and Vanessa Cheung to hold lecture series and workshops on contemporary dance

     Local dance experts Andy Wong and Vanessa Cheung will hold a lecture series and workshops on contemporary dance from September to November. The programme is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
 
     The series will cover specific topics on contemporary dance, with details as follows:

     Andy Wong first received training at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in ballet, and joined the Hong Kong Ballet in 1990 after graduation and the City Contemporary Dance Company in 1991. Later, he studied modern dance in the US. He restructured DanceArt Hong Kong with Francis Leung and Yvette Huang in 1995 to promote modern dance creation and dance education for society.
 
     Vanessa Cheung is a lecturer with the School of Dance of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She teaches somatics and dance education modules of the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) degree and the Master of Fine Arts in Dance programme. She also oversees the development of outreach projects and acts as a mentor for postgraduate students. Aside from working as a lecturer, Cheung is also an independent art worker.
