"Endless Journey" successfully presented by Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund Awardees Association (with photo)

The following is issued on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund:
 
     The Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund Awardees Association made its debut last Saturday (August 13) at the Kwai Tsing Theatre. 

     Performed by more than 30 scholarship recipients of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund from the music and dance fields and four guest dancers, the vibrant programme thrilled the audience with dynamic chamber music and an array of new dance and cross-discipline works. Yip Wing-sie, an acclaimed conductor and the Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Association, and Lung Heung-wing, renowned percussionist and Vice-chairperson (Music) of the Executive Committee of the Association, also led the performers to present the world premiere of the work "Endless Journey".

     The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fund, Dr Pang King-chee; the Head of Charities (Grant Making - Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture) of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Ms Rhoda Chan; the Principal Assistant Secretary for Home Affairs, Ms Sandy Cheung; members of the Board of Trustees of the Fund Professor Adrian Walter, Mr Tai Kit-man, Mr Philip Kan, Ms Rosita Lee, Ms Nancy Loo, Professor Qin Rong and Mr Dennis Ngan; former Chairmen of the Board of Trustees Professor Chan Wing-wah and Mr Frank Lee; members of the Executive Committee of the Association Ms Suky Lo, Mr Allen Lam and Ms Carol Yu; and the past music and dance scholarship recipients attended a cocktail reception and the inaugural performance to celebrate the establishment of the Association.

     The Association was founded in January 2016 by the scholarship recipients of the Fund, with additional funding support from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. It is a registered charitable organisation with the objectives of promoting and developing music and dance in Hong Kong, fostering effective networking and communication among the scholarship recipients and nurturing local young talents. The Association has held a series of activities, including an experience-sharing session, a mentorship programme and concerts with lecture demonstrations in collaboration with the Education University of Hong Kong to enrich students' knowledge and experience in music and dance.
