Intangible Cultural Heritage Office to hold Fun Day again next Saturday
***********************************************************************
The Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Office will hold a Fun Day entitled "ICH Fun @ Summer Time" next Saturday (August 20). Members of the public are welcome to attend.

The Fun Day will be held from 2.30pm to 5.30pm at the Hong Kong ICH Centre. A wide range of free and interesting activities showcasing Hong Kong's rich ICH items will be offered, such as demonstrations of Cantonese opera make-up and costumes, the making of cha kwo (steamed sticky rice dumplings), and game booths featuring the Chiu Chow dialect and Yu Lan altar food stacking. Visitors will also have an opportunity to taste Hong Kong-style milk tea and aeroplane olives, a nostalgic Hong Kong street snack. Furthermore, the Fun Day will present performances such as traditional Hakka unicorn dance and rod puppet Cantonese opera to allow visitors to understand more about the traditions of local performing arts.

Located at the Sam Tung Uk Museum (2 Kwu Uk Lane, Tsuen Wan), the Hong Kong ICH Centre was established by the ICH Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department as a display and resource centre. It aims to enhance the public's understanding and awareness of ICH through various educational and promotional activities, including exhibitions, lectures, seminars, ICH bearers' demonstrations and workshops.

For details of the event and the exhibition, please visit the ICH Office website at www.lcsd.gov.hk/ICHO/, or call 2411 2001 for enquiries.
