********************************************************************
Canadian restaurant chain Mr. Greek announced today (August 9) that it has opened its first restaurant in Hong Kong, using the city as a regional base to commence its Asian expansion.

Located in the busy Mong Kok district, Mr. Greek offers authentic Greek street food and hospitality by the award-winning restaurant brand that has become a popular name in Toronto’s catering industry over the past 28 years, according to the Marketing and Store Development Director, Ms Alycia Tang.

Ms Tang said, “When we were thinking about taking our Mr. Greek brand to Asia, Hong Kong naturally came to our mind as the top location. This city is located in the heart of Asia and as the gateway to Mainland China has all that we need for our regional expansion, including an international cluster of customers from around the world.”

She added, “The new restaurant in Hong Kong is our first outlet in Asia and will be the window to showcase our food concepts in the region. We will base all our management, training and administrative functions here.”

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Dr Jimmy Chiang said, “Hong Kong is a dynamic city with an amazing mix of Eastern and Western cultures. It is the ideal place for overseas food and beverage chains like Mr. Greek to push their brands. We wish them every success in our city and look forward to their expansion in Asia.”
