Immigration Department celebrates 55th anniversary (with photos)

The Immigration Department (ImmD) today (July 31) held an open day to celebrate its 55th anniversary at the Immigration Service Institute of Training and Development (ISITD). A photo exhibition on its history and development will also be held at Immigration Tower from tomorrow (August 1).
In addition to exhibitions and game booths, the ISITD Open Day included a performance by the Immigration Band and display of tactical training gear as well as uniforms and working dress over the years. Members of the public could learn more about the ImmD by visiting the ISITD Training Gallery and a photo exhibition focusing on the history and development of the ImmD. About 1 600 visitors attended the open day.
The photo exhibition on the history and development of the ImmD will also be held at the ground floor lobby of Immigration Tower from tomorrow to August 31. It will then be relocated to the first floor of the same building for public viewing until the end of September. The exhibition will be open from 8.45am to 4.30pm from Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 11.30am on Saturday. Members of the public can see it free of charge.
