Government helps Hong Kong residents who were attacked and their families to obtain emergency financial assistance
******************************************************************************************
The Home Affairs Department has liaised with various charities and understood that they would provide emergency financial assistance to the victims attacked in Würzburg, Germany and their families, a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government spokesman said today (July 22).

This was in view of the need of the injured to receive treatment in local hospitals for a period of time while their accompanying relatives face tremendous pressure in support.

Several charities have pledged the following donations to the two families:

  1. Board of Directors of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (HK$200,000)
  2. Board of Directors of Po Leung Kuk (HK$200,000)
  3. Board of Directors of Pok Oi Hospital (HK$300,000)
  4. Board of Directors of Yan Chai Hospital (HK$300,000)
  5. The Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon (HK$100,000)
  6. Yan Oi Tong (about HK$100,000)

The Government will as soon as possible inform the families in Germany of the above donations through the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Berlin and will assist in the prompt transfer of donations to them.
