Consultation on Working Hours Policy Directions to end on July 24

The following is issued on behalf of the Standard Working Hours Committee:
 
     The Standard Working Hours Committee (SWHC) launched the three-month Consultation on Working Hours Policy Directions on April 25 to gauge the views of various sectors of the community on the working hours policy directions under exploration. The consultation period will end on July 24.
 
     The Chairperson of the SWHC, Dr Leong Che-hung, said today (July 18), "The working hours policy may affect various sectors and occupations. The SWHC and I strongly appeal to the public to grasp the opportunity to express their views before the end of the consultation period for the SWHC's reference in preparing its report to the Government."
 
     The last district-based consultation forum will be held on July 23 (Saturday) at 3pm at Leighton Hill Community Hall, 133 Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley. Members of the public are welcome to register for attendance by phone (3586 8098) or through the SWHC webpage (www.swhc.org.hk/en/consultation/forums/enrolment_form.php). Each registered person can reserve up to two seats on a first-come, first-served basis.
 
     Members of the public can also send in written submissions to the SWHC by fax (2110 1527), email (swhc@swhc.org.hk), online form (www.swhc.org.hk/en/consultation/opinion_form/index.html) or post (Standard Working Hours Committee, Room A, 1/F, Seaview Commercial Building, 21-24 Connaught Road West, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong) before the end of the consultation period on July 24.
 
     Chaired by Dr Leong, the SWHC comprises members drawn from the labour and business sectors, academia, the community and the Government. For details, please refer to the SWHC website (www.swhc.org.hk).
