All-American Boys Chorus to showcase angelic young voices (with photos)

     The All-American Boys Chorus (AABC), honoured as US music ambassadors, will bring to Hong Kong a US-flavoured music journey with their sublime voices. In the upcoming concerts, the versatile singers will be California sunshine boys one moment and rock 'n' roll cowboys the next, swinging the audience through uplifting hymns, lively Broadway numbers and film theme songs.

     Songs in diverse styles will be performed including popular ones like "Edelweiss", "The Circle of Life" and "What a Wonderful World".

     Members of the AABC have undergone comprehensive auditioning and training. They have a wide musical repertoire to call on such as musical songs, jazz, country, soul and hymns. Established in 1970, the AABC has more than 1 000 alumni. Its current members are aged between 10 and 14.

     The concert by the AABC, one of the programmes of the summer festival International Arts Carnival, will be staged on July 23 and 24. Details are as follows:

     The free programme “The All-American Boys Foyer Showcase” will be held on July 21 at 6pm at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Foyer. The talented boys will enchant members of the public with assorted songs during the event.

     Organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the International Arts Carnival is running from July 8 to August 7 to feature a variety of events for family entertainment. Tickets are available at URBTIX (www.urbtix.hk). Credit card telephone bookings can be made on 2111 5999.
