Twenty-four young persons selected as fight crime ambassadors (with photos)
***************************************************************************
Twenty-four outstanding contestants of the "Hang Seng Bank – Help the Police Fight Youth Crime Competition 2016" were selected as fight crime ambassadors.

A delegation of the twenty-four ambassadors will be arranged to take part in an exchange programme in the Netherlands in August.

The ambassadors received certificates and scholarships from the Commissioner of Police, Mr Lo Wai-chung, and the Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive of Hang Seng Bank, Ms Rose Lee, at a prize presentation ceremony at Police Headquarters today (July 14).

Commending their distinguished performance, Mr Lo said at the ceremony that the winners showed their enthusiasm about fighting crime with their production of delicate four-cell manga drawing and creative micro film which deepened their understanding of youth crimes.

Mr Lo encouraged the 24 ambassadors to share their experience in fighting crime with their families and friends, and to enjoy the cultural exchange activities in the Netherlands.

Ms Rose Lee said that the enthusiasm and creativity exhibited by the participants in promoting anti-crime messages demonstrated that young people possessed a strong sense of civic responsibility.

Introduced in 1975, the biennial competition is organised by the Police and has been fully supported by Hang Seng Bank since 1994.

This year's theme is ‘Fight Crime Together for a Better Tomorrow’, conveying the key messages of combating ‘Drugs’, ‘Cyber Crime’ and ‘Quick Cash Crime’, which attracted more than 300,000 participants.

The winners of the four categories, namely the Primary Group, Secondary Group, Tertiary Group and Open Group (aged below 25) had gone through three phases of challenges comprising a combination of web game, quiz, production of four-cell manga drawing (Primary Group) or micro film and interview (Secondary Group, Tertiary Group and Open Group).
