LD to hold occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Health Hints on the Use of Display Screen Equipment" on July 20 (Wednesday). The talk will introduce the Occupational Safety and Health (Display Screen Equipment) Regulation and elaborate on occupational health hazards associated with the prolonged use of display screen equipment and the preventive measures. Demonstration of workplace exercise will also be included.

     The talk will be held at 3pm in the Lecture Hall, Hong Kong Space Museum, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. The LD's Occupational Hygienist and Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Occupational Safety and Health for Confined Space Workers" on July 26 (Tuesday). The talk will discuss occupational safety and health hazards and preventive measures of working in confined spaces to enhance workers' awareness of the issues.

     The talk will be held at 6.30pm in Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The LD's Occupational Hygienist, Occupational Safety Officer and Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The talks will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free. For enquiries or registration, please call 2852 4040.
