The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Housing Authority:

The Site Safety Forum for Works Contracts and Property Services Contracts 2016, jointly organised by the Hong Kong Housing Authority and the Occupational Safety and Health Council, was held today (July 14) to promote safe work at height.

Working at height is indispensable in the construction, property management and cleaning service sectors. To enhance safety awareness of working at height, the theme for this year's forum was "Control the risk at source effectively will improve work performance at height". Professionals were invited to present practical information and share experience with about 600 participants. They encouraged the participants to implement risk control at source to monitor each work step effectively in order to prevent accidents.

The annual Site Safety Forum for Works Contracts and Property Services Contracts is expected to offer a regular platform for information exchange among the industries. Through experience sharing, it is anticipated that alertness of management and front-line staff on proper safety practices would be strengthened.
