Contractor fined for violation of safety legislation

Meng Chang Decoration Limited was fined $50,000 at Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts today (June 23) for violation of the Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on November 10, 2015 at a construction site in Sai Kung. A worker fell to his death from an internal staircase inside a 3-storey village house under renovation.
