TD launches more Hong Kong eTransport Kiosks (with photo)
*********************************************************

     The Transport Department (TD) today (June 23) launched more Hong Kong eTransport Kiosks at eight locations. Members of the public and overseas visitors can use the kiosks to access the interactive enquiry service of Hong Kong eTransport for public transport and related real-time traffic information. They can also use the kiosks as interactive electronic maps to locate sightseeing spots nearby or their destinations.

     The Hong Kong eTransport Kiosks were firstly commissioned in November 2014, with eight kiosks installed at six locations. Opinion surveys were then conducted to collect views and comments from the public and visitors. Taking into account the views and comments collected in early 2015, the design of the newly launched Hong Kong eTransport Kiosks has been improved, including adding buttons for "hotels" and "points of interest" to the user interface for users to search for appropriate transport routes to their destinations more easily. The casing and home screen have also been improved to make the kiosks more eye-catching.

     The new Hong Kong eTransport Kiosks are located at:

* Ocean Park
* Central Ferry Pier (two kiosks)
* Peak Galleria
* Stanley Municipal Services Building
* Sai Kung Town Centre
* Arrival Hall, Hung Hom MTR station
* Tung Chung near Ngong Ping 360
* Opposite to Wong Tai Sin Temple

     In addition, another kiosk will be launched in early September at a footbridge near Exchange Square, Central.

     Since November 2014, the Hong Kong eTransport Kiosks have been located at:

* Arrivals Hall, Terminal 1, Hong Kong International Airport (two kiosks)
* Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre
* Tuen Mun Road Bus-Bus Interchange (two kiosks)
* Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry Pier
* Sha Tin MTR Station
* Yau Lai Shopping Centre

     The kiosks at the above six locations will also be in parallel modified to match with the new kiosks.

     We also encourage owners and managers of private developments to add the Hong Kong eTransport service to their information kiosks installed at places such as shopping arcades, commercial buildings and hotels, to provide interactive public transport and real-time traffic information enquiry services to their customers. The kiosk software and data are available free of charge. Applications for the software package can be submitted at the following link:

     For enquiries and comments on Hong Kong eTransport Kiosks, please call 1823 or send an email to the TD (tdenq@td.gov.hk).
