EAC condemns disruptive acts at public forum
********************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Electoral Affairs Commission:

The Electoral Affairs Commission (EAC) held a public forum on the proposed guidelines on election-related activities in respect of the Chief Executive Election at Quarry Bay Community Hall this evening (June 16), where members of the public may express their views.

To ensure the smooth running of the public forum, participants were required to follow the rules and express their views and raise questions in an orderly manner.

However, some people disrupted the order and running of the forum, depriving the opportunities of other participants to give their views. The EAC condemned the acts of those people.

The public consultation period for the proposed guidelines will run until June 26. Written representations can be submitted to the EAC Secretariat by post at 10/F, Harbour Centre, 25 Harbour Road, Wan Chai, by fax (2511 1682) or by email (eacenq@reo.gov.hk) by June 26.
