British environmentally friendly paint company eicó officially opened its Asia-Pacific regional headquarters in Hong Kong today (June 15), tapping the growing demand for green and sustainable paints in Hong Kong as well as the Asia-Pacific region.

The new office with a laboratory, located in Wong Chuk Hang, measures over 2 000 square feet and markets high-end paint products that are environmentally friendly, non-toxic and good for both indoor and outdoor facilities, according to its Managing Director, Mr Joakim Cimmerbeck. He added that its paint products are ideal for children's bedrooms, in schools and for people prone to allergies.

He said, "Hong Kong people are getting more health conscious, which is a key driver for our products. They demand paint products that are responsibly made, kind to the environment and non-damaging to health. That is why we opened a new headquarters in the city to provide our environmentally friendly paint products, not only to facility management companies but also retail customers."

He added, "Hong Kong as an international city is the ideal place to raise the awareness of sustainability and green living in Asia. Apart from expanding our business, we will also make more efforts in communicating and educating people on quality living environments."

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Dr Jimmy Chiang said, "I appreciate eicó's eco-conscious business vision. They will add to the choices of environmentally friendly paints for the construction industry as well as retail customers. We wish eicó every success in Hong Kong and beyond."
