The following is issued on behalf of the Standard Working Hours Committee:
The Chairperson of the Standard Working Hours Committee (SWHC), Dr Leong Che-hung, together with all members of the SWHC including members from the labour sector, have been very shocked by the death of the SWHC member Mr Stanley Lau, and expressed their deepest condolences to Mr Lau's family.
Dr Leong expresses today (June 12), Mr Lau actively participated in the work of the SWHC in the past three years, and proactively collected and reflected views of stakeholders on issues discussed by the SWHC. Mr Lau was committed to exploring various working hours issues and the working hours policy with the other SWHC members.
Dr Leong wholeheartedly thanks Mr Lau for his devotion and contribution to the SWHC. Dr Leong is very saddened and expresses his deep condolences on the passing of Mr Lau.
