The Acting Chief Eexcutive, Mrs Carrie Lam, today (June 12) expressed her profound sadness at the passing of Mr Stanley Lau.
"Mr Lau was a veteran and distinguished industrialist, and had a long record of public and community service in the industry and labour sectors. He served Hong Kong in a number of important public service positions including Chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, member of the Labour Advisory Board, and the Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries. He made important contributions to the development of Hong Kong's industry and commerce. The sudden death of Mr Lau is a tremendous loss to Hong Kong society.
"On behalf of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to Mr Lau's family," Mrs Lam said.
