Clinic service on Tuen Ng Festival holiday
******************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson today (June 7) reminded the public that the 13 holiday general out-patient clinics (see appended list) will continue to provide services on Tuen Ng Festival on Thursday (June 9). Members of the public requiring medical consultations could make advance booking through the telephone system as usual for an appointment.

The Accident & Emergency (A&E) Departments in public hospitals will also operate as usual during the holiday to serve the patients with urgent medical needs.  The spokesperson said in view of the expected increase in A&E attendance during holidays, priority treatment would be accorded to critical and emergency patients under the established triage system. The queuing time for the semi-urgent and non-urgent patients might comparatively be longer than usual. The spokesperson appeals to the public for understanding and cooperation while waiting for consultations. Non-urgent patients should consider seeking consultations at general out-patient clinics, private doctors or the 24-hour clinics of private hospitals.

Public information of holiday clinic service within the district will be posted at prominent locations in all A&E Departments.  Members of the public are also welcome to call the HA Infoline (2882 4866) for the service information on holiday general out-patient clinics, or to browse the Primary Care Directory of Department of Health at www.pcdirectory.gov.hk , or to download the mobile App of "Primary Care Directory" to choose the appropriate family medicine doctor and the related clinic service information.
