Labour Department responds to media enquiries
*********************************************

In response to media enquiries about the use of the name and logo of the Labour Department (LD) by Care for Accident Rehabilitation (the organisation) in its promotional materials, an LD spokesman today (June 6) gave the following reply:

The LD is highly concerned about the incident.

The intellectual property of the name and logo of the LD belongs to the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The LD has not authorised the organisation to use the name and logo of the LD in its promotional materials. The organisation has not sought any consent from the LD for such use either. The LD would like to take this opportunity to clarify that it has no connection with any business of the organisation.

The use of the name and logo of the LD in the organisation's promotional materials on its business may cause misconceptions among the public. The LD has already taken immediate action to request the organisation to remove the name and logo of the LD from its website and all of its promotional leaflets, and to cease any unauthorised activities with immediate effect.
