Link Properties kindergarten at Hong Pak Court in Lam Tin open for applications

     The Education Bureau (EDB) announced today (June 3) that a kindergarten premises under Link Properties Limited (Link) is open for applications by eligible applicant bodies for the operation of a kindergarten.

     "The kindergarten premises available for letting through this selection exercise is located at Unit No. KG02, 7/F, Hong Pak Court Carpark Block, Hong Pak Court, 139 Pik Wan Road, Lam Tin, Kowloon. It can provide eight classrooms," an EDB spokesman said.

     "The kindergarten premises is made available for applications in response to a request from Link, its owner, for nomination of a non-profit-making educational organisation as its tenant. Selection of the kindergarten operator will be carried out on a competitive basis. Quality of education will be the prime consideration. Applications will be assessed primarily on the basis of the merits of the proposals and the track record of the applicant bodies in operating schools, particularly kindergartens."

     All applications will be considered by a selection committee comprising official and non-official members. The applicant bodies are required to complete an application form and submit it together with the required supporting documents and a proposed school plan (of not more than 10 pages including all annexes, plus a two-page executive summary) covering vision and mission, management and organisation, learning and teaching, support to children and school culture, children's development targets, and self-evaluation indicators. The applicant body may also make reference to other school(s) that it is operating and the respective performance of the school(s) to substantiate its case.

     When submitting the application, the applicant body should be a charitable institution or trust of a public character exempted from tax under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance, and be:

     (1) incorporated under the Companies Ordinance (the successful applicant body would be required to ensure that its articles of association contain all the standard clauses and articles required for allocation of a school); or

     (2) incorporated under other ordinances, with its constitution satisfying the Permanent Secretary for Education as being fit to be considered for allocation of a school.

     The application form for this selection exercise for a kindergarten operator for the kindergarten premises under Link, as well as other relevant information, can be downloaded from the EDB homepage (www.edb.gov.hk/kg-selection_e).

     The duly completed application form and supporting documents, together with 18 copies of the proposed plan and executive summary, should reach the Kindergarten Special Duty 2 Section of the Education Bureau (Room 1432, 14/F, Wu Chung House, 213 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai, Hong Kong) on or before 5pm on July 5, 2016. Late or incomplete applications and applications via email and fax will not be processed.
