CE signs Hong Kong Institute of Education (Amendment) Bill 2016 (with photos/video)

The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, signed the Hong Kong Institute of Education (Amendment) Bill 2016 at a ceremony held at the Office of the Chief Executive today (May 26).
The Hong Kong Institute of Education (Amendment) Bill 2016 was passed by the Legislative Council on May 19. A bill passed by the Legislative Council shall take effect only after it is signed by the Chief Executive and promulgated through publication in the Gazette.
The Hong Kong Institute of Education will be retitled the Education University of Hong Kong tomorrow (May 27). It will become the 10th university and the eighth publicly funded university in Hong Kong.
