LD to hold occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Occupational Safety and Health for Confined Space Workers" on June 1 (Wednesday). The talk will discuss occupational safety and health hazards and preventive measures of working in confined spaces to enhance workers' awareness of the issues.

     The talk will be held at 6.30pm in Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The LD's Occupational Hygienist, Occupational Safety Officer and Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Occupational Health for Couriers (Manual Delivery)" on June 8 (Wednesday). The talk will discuss some common occupational health hazards for couriers in the manual delivery industry, and introduce the causes and preventive measures of musculoskeletal disorders and heat stroke. Demonstration of workplace exercise will be included.

     The talk will be held at 3pm in the Lecture Hall, Hong Kong Space Museum, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The talks will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free.
