At the invitation of the Austrian Government, the Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr Nicholas W Yang, will pay a two-day visit to Vienna in Austria on May 23 and 24 to foster collaboration on smart city development and start-up ecosystems between Hong Kong and Austria.
During his stay in Vienna, Mr Yang will meet with Austrian officials, visit an incubator and look at smart city initiatives. He will also join a panel discussion on the globalisation of start-up ecosystems and officiate at an Invest Hong Kong reception at the Pioneers Festival, a major annual event for future technologies and entrepreneurship in Austria.
The Government Chief Information Officer, Mr Allen Yeung, will join the visit to Vienna.
Mr Yang will leave tomorrow (May 22) and return to Hong Kong in the evening on Wednesday (May 25). In his absence, the Under Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Dr David Chung, will act as Secretary for Innovation and Technology.
