About 4 100 vacancies on offer at Tsuen Wan Job Fair

     The Labour Department will hold a large-scale three-day job fair at DĦEPark in Tsuen Wan from May 18 to 20. The first day of the recruitment event will focus on vacancies in the retail industry, whilst on May 19 and 20 vacancies in catering, property management, transport and other industries will be offered. Thirty participating organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment each day.

     A total of 90 organisations, offering about 4 100 vacancies, will participate in the fair. The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as sales worker, receptionist, waiter/waitress, shop assistant, chef, technician, security guard, driver, warehouse assistant and cleaner. Job seekers can find more information on the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).

     Around 75 per cent of the vacancies are for full-time jobs. Most vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $8,000 to $15,000. About 98 per cent of the vacancies require a Secondary Six education level or below. Around 63 per cent are open to job seekers without relevant work experience, and many vacancies are suitable for young people and secondary school graduates.

     Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. They can also register for employment services at the Labour Department's counter.

     The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at Sky Dome Atrium, Level 1, DĦEPark, Tsuen Wan (MTR Tsuen Wan Station Exit A3). Admission is free.
