Special traffic arrangements on Hong Kong Island

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements on Hong Kong Island from May 17 to 19, to facilitate the visit of the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Peopleˇ¦s Congress, Mr Zhang Dejiang.
 
     Harbour Road between Fenwick Pier Street and Fleming Road will be re-routed one way eastbound and one way westbound from 7am on May 17 to noon on May 19. If necessary, this road section will be intermittently closed.
 
     Expo Drive, Expo Drive Central and Expo Drive East will be closed from 0.00am on May 18 to 0.00am on May 19.
 
     Parking spaces at Jaffe Road between Fleming Road and Stewart Road, Expo Drive East and Lung King Street will be suspended from 7am on May 17 to noon on May 19.
 
     Bus stops and taxi stands at Harbour Road between Fenwick Pier Street and Tonnochy Road will be suspended from 7am on May 17 to noon on May 19.
 
     In addition, the following special traffic arrangements will be implemented in the vicinity of Times Square and Happy Valley on May 18 to facilitate the race meeting:
 
From 4.30pm
 
- Vehicles heading to Canal Road East via Canal Road Flyover cannot turn left to Yiu Wa Street;
- Traffic along Sharp Street East cannot access Canal Road West via the road under Canal Road Flyover; and
- Traffic along Russell Street must turn right to Tang Lung Street to access westbound Hennessy Road.
 
From 5.45pm
 
- Wong Nai Chung Road between Shan Kwong Road and Happy Valley Racecourse will be re-routed one way northbound;
- Wong Nai Chung Road surrounding the Happy Valley Racecourse, will be re-routed one way clockwise; and
- Vehicles on Queenˇ¦s Road East turning right to Wong Nai Chung Road can only access Aberdeen Tunnel.

 
From 10.50pm
 
     The following roads will be closed:
 
- Southbound Wong Nai Chung Road between the Hong Kong Racing Museum and Shan Kwong Road;
- Westbound Leighton Road between Wong Nai Chung Road and Canal Road East; and
- Southbound Morrison Hill Road between Leighton Road and Queenˇ¦s Road East.
 
     Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the special traffic arrangements will be towed away without prior notice.
 
     Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
