Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei this morning (May 14) in which a 76-year-old man died.
At about 5.45am, a private car driven by a 41-year-old man was travelling along northbound Canton Road. When approaching near Yau Ma Tei Police Station, it reportedly knocked down the 76-year-old man.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 6.37am.
The driver was arrested for drink driving and dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
