**********************************************

The Town Planning Board today (May 13) announced amendments to the approved Tsuen Wan Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

The amendments mainly involve rezoning of the areas generally bounded by Castle Peak Road - Tsuen Wan, Pun Shan Street, Chai Wan Kok Street and Tai Chung Road from "Industrial" ("I") to "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Business" ("OU(B)"); revision to the building height restriction of a site zoned "Government, Institution or Community" at the junction of Texaco Road, Ma Tau Pa Road and Wing Shun Street; and incorporation of "Art Studio (excluding those involving direct provision of services or goods)" as a Column 1 use in the "I" zone and the Schedule II of the "OU(B)" and "Residential (Group E)" zones, with corresponding amendments to replace "Place of Recreation, Sports or Culture" under Column 2 by "Place of Recreation, Sports or Culture (not elsewhere specified)" in the above zones. Opportunity is also taken to amend the Notes and Explanatory Statement of the OZP to reflect the above amendments and to update the general information of various land use zonings.
