Launch of new mail collection service - iPostal Station and counter collection
************************************************************

     Hongkong Post today (May 5) announced the launch of the new mail collection service of iPostal Station and counter collection through registration for a Mail Collection Number (MCN). With the use of an MCN, members of the public may select mail collection at a post office or an iPostal Station. An iPostal Station is a suite of lockers placed in the community that provides flexibility to the public in collecting larger-sized mail at their convenience. Starting from today, members of the public can register to obtain an MCN at the EC-Ship online portal (www.ec-ship.hk). Mail collection at iPostal Stations and post offices will commence on May 9.

     Registration for an MCN at Hongkong Post's EC-Ship online portal is easy. Members of the public may simply select an iPostal Station and/or a post office for mail collection at this online portal. Each person will be given an MCN and the sub-code of the selected collection office and/or iPostal Station for informing senders of mail to put onto mail items. Upon the arrival of the mail items at the selected iPostal Station or post office, the recipient will receive an SMS notification with a passcode, which will provide a fast and secure mail collection experience.

     This service covers the following mail types:

     For counter collection and iPostal Stations:
- Local Ordinary Mail (Packets only);
- International Ordinary Mail (Packets only);
- Local Parcel;
- International Parcel;
- Smart Post Mail Delivery Service (Packets only); and
- EMS.

     For both local and international registered mail, the service is available for counter collection only.

     The iPostal Stations are available at six convenient locations throughout the territory and Hongkong Post will extend the service to more locations in future. The six iPostal Stations are located at:
