Police today (April 29) have issued the Letter of No Objection to the organiser of the public meeting and procession to be held on May 1 in the vicinity of Shek Wu Hui and MTR Sheung Shui Station. Police appeal to the organiser to conduct the event in a lawful and orderly manner.
Police respect the public's freedoms of expression, speech and assembly all along. It is the policy of Police to facilitate all peaceful public events while at the same time ensuring public safety and public order.
Police have conducted risk assessment on the event and will deploy suitable manpower and make necessary arrangement according to the situation.
Police remind participants of the public event to comply with the law and express their views in a peaceful and rational manner. Police will take resolute enforcement actions against any illegal acts to preserve public order and safeguard public safety.
