Appointments to Cantonese Opera Advisory Committee

     The Government today (April 29) announced appointments to the Cantonese Opera Advisory Committee (COAC) and Prof Andrew Chan Chi-fai as Chairman of the COAC for the period from May 1, 2016, to April 30, 2018.  
         
     The Home Affairs Bureau thanked the outgoing Chairman, Mr Charles Chow Chan-lum, and seven outgoing members (Mr Lui Hung-kwong, Mr Tam Wing-pong, Ms Brenda Chan Yuen-hung, Ms Candice Leung Wai-yee, Dr Kitty Tai Suk-yan, Mr Li Kin-hung and Ms Eliza Li Pui-yan) for their valuable contributions to the work of the COAC. Mr Chow has served as the Chairman of the COAC for six years and has been actively supporting and promoting the development of Cantonese opera. Under his leadership, the COAC has rendered the Government valuable advice on the sustainable development of Cantonese opera. The Bureau looks forward to working closely with the new term of the COAC to promote the development of Cantonese opera, facilitating the transmission of this world intangible cultural heritage item.
