Man holding charged with manslaughter

     Police today (April 26) laid a holding charge against a 67-year-old man with one count of manslaughter. He is in suspected connection with a manslaughter case in Kwun Tong on April 3, in which a 68-year-old man died.
 
     About 1pm that day, a staff member of a rehabilitation centre on Tsui Ping Road requested for ambulance service after a 68-year-old male inmate was found collapsed. He was rushed to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state and was later transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. He was certified dead at 4.03pm on April 21.
 
     Police immediately commenced an investigation and revealed that the 68-year-old man was suspectedly pushed to the ground by a male inmate on the same day. Police officers arrested a 67-year-old man this morning for manslaughter. He was holding charged with one count of manslaughter and will appear before Kwun Tong Magistrates¡¦ Courts tomorrow (April 27).
 
     Post-mortem examination will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.
 
     Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Kwun Tong District is underway.
