Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui this morning (April 25) in which a 64 year-old woman died.
At about 9.50 am, a public light bus driven by a 47-year-old man was travelling along San Fat Street towards Sheung Shui Station. When approaching near San Lok Street, it reportedly knocked down the woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining multiple injuries, the woman was rushed to North District Hospital in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 10.20am.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
