Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom this afternoon (April 24) in which a 76-year-old woman died.
At about 1.40pm, a light goods vehicle driven by a 63-year-old man was travelling along Ma Tau Wai Road towards Hung Hom. When approaching Chi Kiang Street, it reportedly knocked down the 76-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining injuries to her head, the woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 2.03pm.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
