Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Lok Ma Chau this morning (April 23) in which a 38-year-old woman was killed.
About 11.59am, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 59-year-old man was travelling along Castle Peak Rd – San Tin towards Sheung Shui. When approaching near On Lung Tsuen, it reportedly knocked down the 38-year-old woman who was crossing the road. Sustaining multiple injuries to her head and body, the woman was rushed to North District Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 12.26pm.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
