Following is the transcript of remarks by the Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, at a media session today (April 21) on Appropriation Bill 2016:
Reporter: Some legislators actually suggested that they will filibuster again your suggestions that the debating hours, that is going to be kept at 95 hours. So, and some legislators suggested they would filibuster against it. So what do you make of this?
Financial Secretary: Well, I just hope that they would be practical about this, and don't do anything that would damage the benefit of our people.
Reporter: So, and what impact this adjournment this morning will have on the current Budget debate?
Financial Secretary: Hopefully nothing.
Reporter: So what would you appeal to lawmakers on the benefits of the community?
Financial Secretary: I hope they should understand what would benefit the community and then don't do anything that would damage that.
