New Commandant of the HKAPF appointed (with photo)

     The Government announced today (April 15) the appointment of Mr Yang Joe-tsi as the Commandant of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) with immediate effect.

     The appointment was made by the Chief Executive to succeed the retiring Commandant, Mr James Yiu Yeung-lung, PMSM.

     Mr Yang, aged 58, is the Marketing Director of a property development firm.  He joined the HKAPF as a Constable in April 1989 and was promoted to Superintendent (Auxiliary) in October 2004, Senior Superintendent (Auxiliary) in December 2008 and Chief Superintendent (Auxiliary) in August 2010. Mr Yang was appointed as the Deputy Commandant of HKAPF by the Chief Executive on November 1, 2013.

     Mr Yang has a wide range of operational and management experience. He was awarded the Long Service Medal for Auxiliary Police in 2004 and the First Clasp in 2014.
