Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok

     Police today (April 14) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok on April 7 in which a 64-year-old woman died.

     About 8.41am on that day, a light goods vehicle driven by a 47-year-old man was travelling along northbound Canton Road. When turning right into Bute Street, it reportedly knocked down the 64-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining head injuries, the 64-year-old woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state. She was certified dead at 2.45pm on April 11.

     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in early May.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West, is underway.
