Roving exhibition highlights 2016 Population By-census

     To raise public awareness of the 2016 Population By-census (16BC) and encourage the use of the e-Questionnaire (e-Q), the Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) will hold a roving exhibition from mid-April to mid-June in various shopping arcades and public libraries around Hong Kong.

     The exhibition will be held in five shopping arcades. The first stop, which will include an awards presentation ceremony for the 16BC Publicity Poster and Mini-film Competitions, will be at Level 1 Atrium A, 8 Yan King Road, Metro City Plaza II, Tseung Kwan O, at 11am this Saturday (April 16).

     The exhibition will be held from noon to 8pm. Admission is free and souvenirs will be distributed to game participants. Details of the roving exhibition are as follows:

     The exhibition will comprise display panels introducing the background of the by-census, the multi-modal data collection approach to be adopted (including online self-enumeration via e-Q and computer-assisted face-to-face interview), and the display of winning entries of the 16BC Publicity Poster and Mini-film Competitions. Members of the public may gain a better understanding of the C&SD's data collection work by participating in computer and stall games set up at the roving exhibitions in the shopping arcades.

     The 16BC will select a sample of about one-tenth of households for detailed enquiries on a broad range of socio-economic characteristics of the population. It will take place from June 30 to August 2 this year. For more information, please visit www.bycensus2016.gov.hk.
