CE meets Governor of Hainan Province (with photo)
*************************************************

The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the Governor of Hainan Province, Mr Liu Cigui, at Government House this afternoon (April 7) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.

Mr Leung said that Hong Kong and Hainan have been working closely in various areas for mutual benefit. Hong Kong has a large pool of talents and rich management experience in high-end service sectors and can act as a "super-connector" for Hainan's development, especially in financial and professional services, trade and tourism, thus complementing Hainan in the implementation of its "attracting investment" and "going global" strategies.

Noting that the country is pressing ahead with the Belt and Road Initiative and the National 13th Five-Year Plan, Mr Leung said that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government would seize the enormous opportunities available. He hoped that Hong Kong and Hainan would continue to strengthen ties in various areas of co-operation and promote economic development for mutual benefit.
