"Hong Kong Guide" 2016 edition available for sale (with photo)
********************************************************

The "Hong Kong Guide" 2016 edition produced by the Survey and Mapping Office (SMO) of the Lands Department is now on sale.

The 408-page new Hong Kong Guide provides accurate and detailed maps covering the whole territory of Hong Kong. It also contains indexes of streets, places and villages, estates and buildings, schools, public services and leisure and cultural facilities, as well as information on public transportation. The indexes for streets and places and villages can serve as the gazetteers for Chinese and English names of streets and geographical places in Hong Kong.

This year, the Guide features a theme of "Art Walk - a visit to the historic buildings in Hong Kong" with four aspects, namely "Witnessing the Ever-changing Hong Kong", "East Meets West", "Work and Entertainment" and "Old Domestic Buildings". It introduces a number of buildings with unique historical value and the ways they have been revitalised to become converging points of artistic and cultural activities in recent years. It also gives readers a glimpse of Hong Kong's historical legacy and dedicated efforts in heritage conservation.

The "Hong Kong Guide" 2016 edition, priced at $110, is available at all SMO sales outlets, six post offices (the General Post Office, Kowloon Central Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Mong Kok Post Office, Kwun Tong Post Office and Tuen Mun Central Post Office), certain local bookstores and the SMO's online map shop (www.hkmapservice.gov.hk). Information on the SMO's sales outlets can be found at www.landsd.gov.hk/mapping/en/pro&ser/outlet.htm. For enquiries, please call 2231 3187.
