Murder in Castle Peak

     Police today (March 29) arrested a 27-year-old Non-Ethnic Chinese (NEC) man in suspected connection with a murder case in Castle Peak in the small hours of today in which his 25-year-old expatriate girlfriend was killed.

     At about 2.16am, a man made a report to Police that two of his friends were fighting after a dispute in a construction site on Hung Cheung Road. Police sped to the scene and found the 27-year-old man attacking the 25-year-old woman with an electric drill. Officers immediately subdued the 27-year-old man. Sustaining serious injuries to her head, the woman was conveyed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 3.10am.

     The 27-year-old man sustained injuries to his elbows and legs. He was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital in conscious state. Police arrested him for murder and he is being detained for further enquiries.

     Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.

     Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Tuen Mun are underway.
