The spokesperson of the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital (AHNH) gave the following update today (March 26) regarding an earlier announcement on a cluster of Drug Resistant Acinetobacter in a mixed medical ward:
The hospital has continued with the screening procedures and confirmed one more 87-year-old male patient to have Drug Resistant Acinetobacter. The patient is now treated under isolation with stable condition.
The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection. The hospital will continue the enhanced infection control measures and closely monitor the situation.
