******************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

The spokesperson for Kowloon Central Cluster (KCC) announced today (March 24) that the Community Rehabilitation Service Support Centre, Hospital Authority (CRSSC), located in Kowloon Hospital of KCC, commenced service yesterday (March 23). It continues to provide rehabilitation services to people with different illnesses or disabilities who have difficulties in self-care, mobility, communication and work.

The spokesperson said that the Hospital Authority Board has discussed and endorsed in the Administrative and Operational Meeting this afternoon a proposal to relocate the Rehabaid Centre and the Rotary Rehabaid Centre for Children of KCC to the newly set up CRSSC. The purpose of the service re-integration is to strengthen the interface between the hospital services and community rehabilitation services.

Fees and charges of the services at CRSSC have been aligned with the gazetted fees and charges of rehabilitation and specialist outpatient services in the Hospital Authority. The service hours will remain unchanged. The opening hours are 9am to 5.50pm from Monday to Friday. It will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

The spokesperson explained that to facilitate respective development of the Hospital Authority and the Rehabaid Society, the Hospital Authority Board has endorsed that KCC will cease its management and operation of the Rehabaid Centre currently located at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hung Hom and the Rotary Rehabaid Centre for Children currently sited at Sha Wan Drive, Pok Fu Lam on Hong Kong Island, with effect from April 8, 2016. The Rehabaid Society will resume the management and operation of the two Centres at their current sites after April 8.

"KCC has already sent out letters to the service users. Respective District Councils have also been informed about relevant arrangements to let the public and residents know about the service arrangements as soon as possible. The Cluster had earlier informed and consulted staff members concerned on this service restructure, and will arrange for them to continue to serve in the CRSSC," the spokesperson said.
