The spokesperson of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital gave the following update today (March 22) regarding an earlier announcement on a cluster of Drug Resistant Acinetobacter in a mixed medical ward.
The hospital has performed contact tracing in accordance with the prevailing infection control guidelines and confirmed one more male patient aged 89 to have Drug Resistant Acinetobacter. The patient is hospitalised under isolation with stable condition in Tai Po Hospital.
The hospital will continue the enhanced infection control measures and closely monitor the situation of the ward. The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow-up.
